Composition:
100 mg trimebutine maleate

 

Pharmacological properties:

Trimebutine maleate is a drug for the treatment of intestinal functions, from the group of synthetic anti-cholinergics.

Indications:

Trimebutin 100 is indicated in the symptomatic treatment of pains, transit disorders and abdominal disorders due to the functional problems of the digestive tract and the biliary duct.

Contraindications:

  •     Hypersensitivity to trimebutine maleate or to any other of the drug’s excipients. Severe kidney insufficiency.

Adverse reactions:
In a study performed on 62.671 patients, adverse reactions were reported to 272 (0,43%) of them. The reactions included: rash (57 patients – 0,09%), constipation (42 patients – 0,07%), diarrhea (40 patients, 0,06%), thirst (24 patients – 0,04%). If any of these reactions appear the administration of the product must be stopped.
Extremely rare other reactions may appear.

Treatment and dosage:

Adulţs: The usual dose is of 300 trimebutine maleate daily, orally administered, in 3 fractions (1 tablet of Trimebutin 100 three times a day).
Exceptionally, the dose may be increased up to 600mg trimebutine maleate (200mg trimebutine maleate three times a day or two tablets of Trimebutin 100). The product is not intended for children use.
